A brand named after the tree that gives

Vrikshaka takes its name from the ancient sculpted figures of women entwined with trees. It felt right: our material comes from the earth, our craft comes from hands, and the finished piece is meant to be worn for years, not seasons.

Artisan shaping terracotta clay beads by hand

How a piece is made

01

Rolling

Natural terracotta clay is kneaded and rolled bead by bead — no moulds, no shortcuts.

02

Firing

Beads are sun-dried for two days, then kiln-fired until they ring when tapped.

03

Painting

Each piece is hand-painted and gilded with antique gold before a protective seal.

04

Stringing

Finished pieces are strung on adjustable cotton dori and checked twice before packing.

Fair wages, small batches, no waste

We work with a compact team of artisans paid per piece at rates set by them, not by us. Clay offcuts go back into the next batch, and everything ships in plastic-free packaging.
