Looking after clay
Handmade terracotta ages beautifully when treated kindly. Five habits keep every piece looking as it did on day one.

Last on, first off
Wear your jewellery after perfume, hairspray and makeup, and take it off before anything else.

Keep it dry
Terracotta is sealed but not waterproof. Remove pieces before swimming, bathing or heavy rain.

Store separately
Use the cotton pouch it arrived in. Storing pieces loose together causes the gold detailing to rub off.

Clean gently
Wipe with a dry, soft cloth only. Never use jewellery cleaners, alcohol or water on painted clay.

Travelling
Pack pieces flat in a hard case with the pouch. Avoid loose bags where beads can knock together.
